Rachelle Robinett, RH

Rachelle Robinett, a certified herbalist (RH), offers a distinctive philosophy on wellness that prioritizes simplicity and a deep connection to both body and nature. With a professional history in fashion and marketing, she is demonstrating that herbalism can be as modern, chic, and sophisticated as any contemporary health trend.

While many perceive herbalism as overly rustic or mystical, Robinett aims to “broaden some perspectives” and encourage a fresh view of herbalism. Her mission is to make this practice not only approachable but also practical, assisting individuals in establishing a more intuitive and balanced approach to their health through simple rituals and natural remedies.

Everyday Herbalism

“While many define herbalism simply as ‘plants as medicine’, it encompasses a much broader spectrum focused on holistic and personalized natural health,” Robinett explains. Amidst the plethora of complicated wellness trends online, she believes that a return to mindful, grounded practices is essential—and that most individuals are already engaging with herbalism, often unknowingly.

Consider this: do you savor a cup of tea or coffee? Do you appreciate being outside, feeling the grass underfoot, or tending to your garden? How about cooking with fresh or dried herbs, or utilizing essential oils? If so, you’re already partaking in herbalism daily.

Integrating Herbs into Your Daily Life

If you’ve been practicing herbalism without awareness, you may be curious about how to explore it more consciously. Robinett emphasizes that a shift in mindset is crucial.

“It’s important to focus on root causes,” she asserts, advising against the common thought pattern of “I have a symptom; I need to treat the symptom.

For example, if you experience a headache and think, “What herbal remedy can alleviate my headache?” Robinett asserts that you’re only partially on the right track. The complete approach should be: “What is causing my headache? How can I address the root cause naturally?” If we always circumvent the cause, we are merely applying temporary fixes.

Feeling Overwhelmed by Wellness Trends?

For anyone feeling inundated by wellness culture, Robinett offers empathy. Her suggestion? “Disregard everything and look within instead.” Rather than pursuing every trendy health fad seen on social media, she encourages individuals to turn to herbs for a personalized approach to wellness.

“For many, herbalism is an entirely new concept,” Robinett notes, recognizing that unfamiliar practices, particularly those lacking mainstream promotion, can lead to reluctance.

She aspires to demystify herbalism with her new book, Naturally: The Herbalist’s Guide to Health and Transformation. Robinett is especially excited for readers to discover natural solutions to their health issues and how to incorporate herbs into their daily routines. The book features a valuable reference table detailing the best applications for the herbs discussed.

“This health approach is personal and holistic, with roots that extend far beyond today’s fleeting fads,” Robinett concludes. “Ultimately, it’s about restoring equilibrium and vitality to our lives.”
