Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Makes: 6 servings

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, diced

1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce

1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans

1 can (14 1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes

1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 sweet potato, cut into cubes

Water (optional)

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 pinch of garlic powder

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

Sour cream (optional)

Sliced avocado (optional)

In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the onions until the meat is fully cooked and the onions have softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the tomato sauce, kidney beans, stewed tomatoes (with their juices), diced tomatoes with green chilies, and the cubed sweet potato. If necessary, incorporate water to achieve your preferred thickness.

Season the mixture with chili powder and garlic powder, adjusting salt and pepper according to your taste.

Bring the ingredients to a boil, then lower the heat. Cover and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.

Enjoy with optional sour cream and sliced avocado, if you wish.
